Golden hour over the lavender rows at Lit Lavender Farm in Sequim, Washington
Sequim, Washington · inside the Olympic rain shadow

The same weather that made Provence famous.

Storms empty themselves on the Olympics and arrive here wrung out. Dry days, cold nights, lean soil — and lavender answers that by making oil instead of leaf. Cut by hand, distilled in a copper still on the property.

What is it for?

Lavender is not one thing. The English cultivar is for skin and sleep; the French lavandin is for cleaning, linens and bug season. Start with the job, and we’ll get you to the right bottle.

Two lavenders, two jobs

Most people buy the wrong one.

We grow Royal Velvet, an English lavender — sweet, honeyed, low in camphor. That is the one for pillows, for skin, for the fifteen seconds at the end of the day when you cup your hands over your face and breathe. And we grow Super, a French lavandin — bigger plant, bolder scent, that cool spa-clean edge. That is the one for laundry, counters, closets and the porch in mosquito season.

Buy the English for the bedroom and the French for everywhere else, and lavender suddenly makes sense.

Rows in the ground since 1997

Formerly Olympic Lavender — some of the oldest producing lavender in the valley. Heritage English cultivars and French lavandins, planted side by side and still cropping.

Distilled in copper, on site

Our Provence-style still runs a few hundred feet from where the flowers were cut. Come on a summer weekend and you can watch the oil separate out on top of the hydrosol.

Where your order goes

Every order feeds the farm

This is a real five-acre family farm, not a warehouse. When you buy a candle or a bottle of oil, here is where the money actually goes.

  • Hay for Socks & Sweaters (and the mystery third sheep whose name we will never tell), plus Puzzles and Bambi the goats and the Lavender Orpington hens.
  • Next season’s rows — new plants, drip lines, and the care that keeps more than 2,200 lavender plants in bloom.
  • Keeping the farm free to visit — admission, parking, mini golf and the barnyard never cost a dime, Friday to Sunday all season.

Our word

The two-person guarantee

There is no customer service department here — there is Joe and there is Susie. If your order shows up broken, wrong, or just not what you hoped for, email us a photo and we will replace it or refund it, your pick. No form, no ticket number, no restocking fee.

Good to know

Answered before you have to ask

A flat $8 anywhere in the US, however big the box. Instead of a free-shipping threshold with fine print, we tuck real gifts into bigger orders — a lavender sachet at $50, $75 and $100, hand lotion at $150, a canvas tote at $200. They stack.
Within 3–5 business days from Sequim, Washington. Every order is packed by hand between farm chores, and you get an email the moment yours leaves.
Add whatever you like to the basket, then enter WELCOME10 in the promo-code field on the secure Stripe payment page — it takes 10% off your first order. It plays fine with the milestone gifts, which are earned on your product subtotal before the discount is applied.
If it is going near skin, a pillow, or a wind-down ritual, you want Royal Velvet — our English lavender, sweeter and low in camphor. If it is going into a cleaning spray, a laundry load, a big diffuser or a bug-season porch, Super does that job better and costs less.
Email info@lit-lavender.com with a photo and we will make it right — replacement or refund, your choice. We are a two-person family farm; you will hear back from Joe or Susie personally.
