Lit Lavender Farm is a five-acre family farm in Sequim, Washington. This page explains what the website collects, who else ends up holding it, and how to make us delete it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address and what you bought. We need all of it to send you a box.
When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and nothing else.
When you use the site: standard analytics — pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device. This is aggregate, and we use it to work out which parts of the shop are confusing.
When you ask Lavi a question: the messages you type into the chat widget.
We never see your card details. They go from your browser straight to Stripe.
We are a two-person farm, so almost everything runs on services other people operate:
We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to anyone for advertising.
Your basket lives in your own browser’s local storage, not on our servers, which is why it survives a refresh and why clearing your browser data empties it. Google Analytics sets cookies. Nothing else does.
We email you about your own order because you placed one. We only email you marketing if you asked us to, and every one of those has an unsubscribe link that actually works. Unsubscribing does not affect order emails.
Order records are kept as long as our accountant and the tax authorities require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics is retained on Google’s default schedule.
Email info@lit-lavender.com and ask. We will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it — whichever you want — except where we are legally required to keep a record of a sale. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to this; you are welcome to it either way.
The shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
If this changes we will change the date at the top. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
